ddmsrealm-ddo-menace-of-the-underdark-expansionDungeons and Dragons Online announces a new expansion, Menace of the Underdark! Stated as being released in the summer of 2012. This expansion is advertising many of the long awaited changes by the player.  It looks like they are going to raise the level cap and let players level their characters up into epic levels (21-25). They are announcing the addition of the druid class, finally.

The biggest news though is the introduction to most D&D players favorite campaign setting, Forgotten Realms. This campaign setting has been the favorite of many gamers for years. Many (myself included) were dissappointed that Turbine had to go with a new campaign setting versus one that is so well established. I for one am very excited about the announcement of an expansion to Forgotten Realms. Not just Forgotten Realms, but to the Underdark of Forgotten Realms! I do have my reservations though on how they will mesh these two campaigns together but my hope is that it is not too cheesy and allows me to finally play DDO outside of Ebberon. (Sorry folks, I have just never warmed up to the campaign.)

Anyway, that’s about all there is now with this new announcement. Expect to see many more details coming out in the next few months about the extent of the expansion!
