Along with the coming release of Dungeons and Dragons Next, the 5th edition set to be released mid to late 2012, comes a further advancement of the story. As some of you may have heard there is another new Dungeons and Dragons based MMO on the horizon, Pathfinder Online. The licensing was announced recently and now we have a bit more information with this letter from Ryan Dancey about what we can expect from the Pathfinder MMO coming up. Atari is bringing the Dungeons and Dragons experience to Facebook. Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes of Neverwinter is a new Facebook game that has just entered into beta. The game is set to use the 4th Edition game mechanics. I think most gamers and D&D players agree that the rules seem build for just that.
I know there was a lot of worry and consternation about what project Atari was working on awhile back. Many people were worried that they were creating a D&D game that was going to be direct competition for Dungeons and Dragons Online. Well it turns out they were working on a Dungeons and Dragons game but it is not an MMO and shouldn’t be any direct competition to Dungeons and Dragons Online.
